BIO-key® and CYRUN Awarded Contracts by City of South Lake Tahoe to Provide Integrated Solution for Police and Fire Departments

BIO-key answers the need for a city wide mobile solution

WALL, N.J. – BIO-key International, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: BKYI), a leader in finger-based biometric identification and wireless public safety solutions, announced today that, through its partner CYRUN of Santa Cruz, California, it has been awarded contracts by the City of South Lake Tahoe to provide mobile data connectivity for the city’s police and fire departments. Municipalities across the country continue to select BIO-key to enable their police and fire first responders to communicate on a single platform.

South Lake Tahoe joins the many other cities that use the MobileCop™ /FireRMS™ families of products in both their fire and police departments. These cities include, Brentwood, TN and Lincoln, NE. MobileCop gives officers the ability to access dispatch and records information in real-time from the field as well as the capability to communicate in a silent, secure, manner.

Incorporating FireRMS™ Mobile into their existing records management system, will allow South Lake Tahoe personnel to perform field data collection, dramatically increasing their efficiency in administrative efforts associated with inspections. The Mobile Rescue package will also bridge communication among participating first responders and allow mission critical information to be delivered to incident command.

According to CYRUN’s president Glen Haimovitz, “CYRUN’S partnership with BIO-key has created a complete and integrated law enforcement and fire solution that has been engineered to allow information to pass freely between all agency personnel, whether in the station or in the field.” CYRUN’s VP of Client Services, Darrell Luera echoed this adding, “These robust and complimentary systems virtually eliminate all redundant data entry throughout the public safety environment.”
“City wide solutions that cross disciplines allow agencies to effectively communicate and benefit from increased information flow both in the respective offices and in the field,” said Mike DePasquale, CEO of BIO-key. “This is yet another example of data sharing between public safety agencies which is rapidly becoming a requirement nationwide. BIO-key and Cyrun are offering a full and complete solution to best meet South Lake Tahoe’s needs.”
