Firefighters help hiker stranded in forest

Hiker was stuck estimated 90 feet up side of Calif. mountain on Monday

ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST, Calif. — Los Angeles County firefighters rescued a hiker who was stuck an estimated 90 feet up the side of the mountain on Monday, officials said.

The woman wasn’t injured, according to Sgt. Pete Shupe of the sheriff’s San Dimas station.

He said the station received a call at 5:24 p.m. about the stranded hiker in a tank top and leotard by East Fork Road. Shupe added that the hiker was on the trail to the Bridge to Nowhere.

Firefighters who were involved in the rescue couldn’t be reached for comment Monday night.
