There’s still no containment in sight for the Orleans Complex fires, which have already burned 9,700 acres.
The U.S. Forest Service contact for the fire, Kathy Hardy, said Monday the latest update on the fire was that it was continuing to move toward State Route 96.
“It’s probably going to burn until we get rain or snow this winter,” Hardy said.
The fire is about 25 percent contained.
The update on the Bar Complex fires, northwest of Weaverville, is that it’s 35 percent contained and has charred 14,667 acres.
The Uncles Complex, 18 miles east/northeast of Orleans, wildland fire is also 35 percent contained and as of Monday’s update had burned 10,616 acres.
An update on the Happy Camp Complex listed the fires as being 30 percent contained and 3,818 acres burned so far.
