SpotFire Enterprises Introduces the Incident Response Pocket Guide Andriod App

A key wildland firefighting resource goes high-tech. The IRPG (Incident Response Pocket Guide), the key wildland fire job aid and training reference for all personnel, is now available as an android based mobile device application. SpotFire Enterprises, a Montana Company, released the app today.

What is the IRPG? The Incident Response Pocket Guide is published by the National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG). It “provides a collection of best practices that have evolved over time within the wildland fire service.” Firefighters are expected to keep a copy at hand as a reference.

What is the SpotFire IRPG App? It is a menu‐driven computer compilation of the hard‐copy guide. Additionally, it incorporates a Relative Humidity (RH) Calculator.

When / Where / How Much $$? The app has been in development for several months and is now available in the Android Market for $1.87. An Apple IOS version is in the works.

Who is SpotFire LLC? Started recently, SpotFire is a small, computer programming company based in Libby, Mont. It is managed by Robert Salter, a seasonal wildland firefighter.

What is Android? The world’s best‐selling Smartphone platform.
