CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. — A Lancaster, S.C., firefighter was killed in a head-on collision with a dump truck on Wednesday.
Officials identified the victim Thursday as Darrell Linn Pigg, 48, a longtime firefighter and training officer at the Gooches Fire Department, according to The Herald.
The driver of the truck, a man from Rock Hill, was injured in the crash and transported to Medical University of South Carolina-Lancaster.
The collision is under investigation.
Pigg’s funeral will be held at the High Point Free Will Baptist Church in Lancaster on for Saturday.
