LOS ANGELES COUNTY — The Los Angeles County Fire Department announced the death of Firefighter Jonathan Van Oeffelen late Sunday night.
“We extend our deepest condolences and prayers to the family, friends and colleagues of FF Van Oeffelen,” the department wrote in a social post.
The post said the department had “activated the department’s chaplains, peer support team, behavioral health clinicians and memorial management team,” and asked the community to respect the privacy of the family.
