RIVERSIDE, Calif. — A shoeless homeless man now has protection for his feet thanks to a firefighter.
The Press Enterprise reported that the crew of Engine 6, with the City of Riverside Fire Department, was returning to its station when they passed a homeless man walking slowly on the side of a freeway overpass.
The crew pulled over and firefighter David Gilstrap offered the man his shoes. Capt. Rob Gabler helped the elderly man put on the shoes and offered him water.
