CAMBRIA, N.Y. – A volunteer firefighter was killed in a car crash Tuesday night while returning from a fire department training program.
Firefighter Thomas Burley, 20, with the Youngstown Volunteer Fire Company, died from injuries sustained when his privately owned vehicle was involved in an accident, according to the U.S. Fire Administration. He was returning from fire department mandated training at the Niagara County Public Safety Training Facility, according to USFA.
Firefighter Burley was with the Youngstown Volunteer Fire Company for five years.
