To be a good firefighter or officer, you must be a good listener. For officers, it helps them to interact with their crew and makes them an effective leader or supervisor.
For firefighters, it helps them to know that they have an officer who will listen to them when they need it. It also helps them fulfill their officer’s work assignments. It is always better to use your ears than your mouth in communicating — listen first, then speak.
