After the first-arriving firefighter or officer gives a brief initial report of an incident, the next step is to detail what that crew are going to be doing. This is where we establish the strategy and tactics to be used. Depending upon what is seen by the first arriving crews, the strategy/tactics will vary as well.
Use common terminology to help with a fast attack mode, offensive operations, all-hands rescue, defensive operations as well as any other departmental standardized terms.
