BEAVER COUNTY, Pa. — In Beaver County, there is some open, snow-covered land which is actually an old, overgrown baseball field that hasn’t been used in years.

Firefighters are hoping it will eventually be home to a brand new training building. When fire strikes, a fast and efficient response can mean the difference between life and death. Not only for victims of fire, but for the brave men and women fighting the flames.

“The better we’re trained, the safer we are and the better chances of we all go home at the end of the day,” said Dennis Baker Jr. of the Baden Fire Department. Firefighters all over Beaver County have joined forces with the Baden Fire Department to raise money to build a training center. It would be the first of its kind in the county. As it stands now, firefighters have to travel to other locations to learn and practice.
