Calif. fire department joins ranks of cancer fundraisers

Proceeds from sales of T-shirts with pink logo signifying breast cancer research will be donated to cancer-related nonprofits

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Cal Fire-Butte County firefighters, dispatchers and employees are wearing and selling through Friday modified Cal Fire T-shirts with the pink logo signifying support of breast cancer research.

Proceeds from T-shirt sales to Cal Fire employees will be donated to cancer-related nonprofit organizations.

Area firefighters have joined more than 900 fire and police departments across the nation to participate in the 2011 national “Cares Enough to Wear Pink.” October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
