LOS ANGELES, Calif. — A 10-year-old girl battling congenital heart disease celebrated her birthday Saturday night by surprising firefighters with a special pizza delivery as a token of her gratitude for their continued support.

NBC Los Angeles reported that Noah Michaelis sells lemonade in front of her house, just around the corner from Fire Station 72.

The firefighters quickly rallied around her cause and became loyal patrons. They even brought their friends.

“Noah truly is an inspiration,” said Wayne Schuetz, a firefighter-medic. “Here’s a very articulate and very mature young lady who is raising money for her cause.”

All of the proceeds from Noah’s lemonade stand go to Hopeful Hearts, an organization that helps families coping with similar health issues.

“Thank you guys for everything that you’ve done for me and for our cause,” she told them. “Thank you for coming to our lemonade stands. Thank you for supporting us.”
