ERIE, Pa. — Erie Firefighter John Stewart grew a pumpkin that weighs more than 1,000 pounds, and a local artist carved it into a Halloween showpiece, YourErie.com reported Monday.

Stewart has done it before; this is his second especially large pumpkin, weighing in at 1,177 pounds.

The giant gourd can be seen at Firehouse 13. The artist worked on it for seven hours.
