2 N.J. firefighters injured while battling vacant structure fire

One of the Camden firefighters fell through the second-story floor, seriously injuring his back

CAMDEN, N.J. — Two Camden firefighters sustained injuries at a vacant structure fire on Friday.

During fire operations at the two-alarm blaze, one firefighter fell through the structure’s second-story floor onto the first floor, injuring his back. He was transported to an area hospital when he is being treated in the trauma unit, according to Camden Fire Officers Local 2578.

A second firefighter was also injured at the fire and was treated and released, according to fire officials.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
