2 Texas FFs hurt in apparatus rollover en route to grass fire

The incident hospitalized both Stinnett Fire Department firefighters, with one remaining under medical care with two hairline fractures to the neck

STINNETT, Texas — Two members of the Stinnett Fire Department were injured in an apparatus roll over while en route to a grass fire.

The Stinnett crewmembers were heading to the River Bottom Fire in Hutchinson County, when the incident occurred. Both firefighters were able to remove themselves from the apparatus, and were transported by Stinnett EMS to a local hospital.

One firefighter was released by Golden Plains Community Hospital, and the other was transferred to Northwest Texas Hospital with two possible hairline fractures to his neck.

Both crewmembers are on the road to recovery, according to the fire department.

“Both firefighters are sore, but in good spirits,” the department wrote in a social post. “They have a true servants’ heart, wanting to know when they can get back in the game.”
