STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Two firefighters were injured while battling a house fire early on Tuesday morning in Westerleigh.

About 60 firefighters and 12 units responded to the “all-hands” blaze, which was reported at 12:12 a.m. at the two-story home at 111 Muller Ave., according to a spokesman for the FDNY/EMS.

The firefighters, who suffered minor injuries, were taken to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton, the spokesman said.

The blaze was brought under control in less than an hour, at 12:55 a.m., the spokesman said.

Windows and doors were boarded up following the fire, which appeared to cause extensive damage inside the home.
