CHICAGO — An investigation into a complaint led to a firefighter being fired for repeatedly having sex at the station while his colleagues looked the other way.
Chicago Sun Times reported that the unnamed firefighter was fired after the Chicago Fire Department’s Bureau of Internal Affairs investigated a complaint that was made by his ex-girlfriend, who also provided text messages, emails and phone records that showed “she was where she said she was.”
The investigation, which lasted for several months and involved two dozen firefighters being interviewed, found that the two had sex at the fire station repeatedly over a long period of time.
The other firefighters are accused of “varying degrees of not paying attention or looking the other way,” according to officials, who added that suspensions are likely.
