HANOVER TWP., Pa. — Former Wilkes-Barre Township Fire Chief John Yuknavich could be in even more hot water following an incident that allegedly happened on Friday night.
Hanover Township Police responded to a call of someone making threats at the Fraternal Order of Police, located at the Wyoming Valley Lodge 36 on East Division Street.
A supervisor at Luzerne County 911 confirmed that a call was received at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Friday for a report of someone making threats at the Fraternal Order of Police.
Police say several witnesses identified Yuknavich as the one making the threats — specifically, he threatened former Wilkes-Barre Police officer Tino Ninotti and Thomas Zurawski. Zurawski is a board member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 36.
Police say Ninotti and Zurawski were not at the scene at the time the threats were made. Yuknavich also was not there when police arrived.
Police say both Ninotti and Zurawski were notified of the threats made against them. The matter is still under investigation.
