N.J. FF suffers fatal medical emergency after training

A Bayville firefighter and Army veteran died the day after mandatory training

BAYVILLE, N.J. — A Bayville, New Jersey firefighter died the day after participating in mandatory training on June 21. 

Bayville Firefighter Brian Letrent participated in a drill with other firefighters on Tuesday evening. The next day, while returning home from work he suffered a cardiac emergency, the USFA reported. 

He was transported to Bayshore Medical Center where he died. 

Letrent enlisted in the Army after graduation and was deployed to Iraq for six months, the Daily Voice reported.
