Mayday: 4 Baltimore FFs rescued after floor collapse

A vacant rowhome fire was declared a ‘mayday’ call after four firefighters plunged to the basement when the main floor collapsed.

BALTIMORE — Officials say all firefighters are accounted for after a mayday call at a rowhome fire in northeast Baltimore.

Baltimore City Fire Department crews were attempting an interior fire attack when the main floor of the vacant home collapsed, plunging four firefighters into the basement, Baltimore Firefighters IAFF Local 734 shared in a tweet.

All four members were pulled from the home, and appear to be OK, WBAL reported.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
