CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Three Charlotte firefighters were injured during a house fire on April 18, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.
The fire was reported at approximately 2:45 a.m. on Grimes Street, near North Graham Street, WBTV reported.
Upon arrival, firefighters observed fire showing from the house. Three minutes after arrival, a “mayday” call was transmitted, resulting in one firefighter being removed from the house. Fire Chief Reginald Johnson said three firefighters were injured.

Details on the cause of the mayday were not reported.
The firefighters’ injuries are non-life-threatening, Johnson said. The occupants escaped without injury.
It took firefighters an hour to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
