BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A FDNY firefighter passed away Tuesday from injuries he had sustained while responding to the World Trace Center terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

Brooklyn firefighter William Henry Quick, 55, had contracted lung disease while working amid the rubble in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, according to Newsday.

A funeral mass was held Tuesday and a visitation is planned for Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Macken Mortuary, Island Park Chapel, 3930 Long Beach Road.
