EMMITSBURG, Md. — The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation released a fire service research agenda to help reduce or eliminate firefighter line-of-duty injuries and fatalities.

The National Research Agenda provides findings from more than 100 representatives of the fire service and research community that gathered for the 2015 National Fire Service Agency Symposium.

The agenda identifies 54 recommendations that are divided into three themes:

  • Data collection and data analysis projects.
  • Problem or program analysis and evaluation projects.
  • Research to practice projects.

Each recommendation is also assigned a priority level and is linked with multiple topics illustrating the nature of the research.
