GREEN BAY, Wis. — Green Bay Metro Fire Department crewmembers and a police department humane officer rescued baby owls Thursday, according to a Facebook post by the department.

The great horned owlets had been sitting in the snow for four days and cannot fly yet.

The firefighters and the officer made a makeshift nest with hay and got the owls off the cold ground. The parent owl supervised and fed the young.
