WEST COVINA, Calif. — West Covina firefighters recently completed two days of IAFF Fire Ground Survival refresher training focused on Mayday procedures, self-rescue and locating lost or trapped firefighters.

The training emphasizes calling a Mayday when a life-threatening condition cannot be resolved within 30 seconds, allowing crews to quickly begin rescue operations.
