FORSYTH, Ga. — The Georgia Public Safety Training Center has added hands-on simulation training to its Fire Department Management class to better prepare new field officers for large-scale incidents.
During the latest course, students used simulation maps, radios, prop vehicles and other tools to manage a tabletop exercise involving a fire at a five-story assisted living facility.
The scenario required students to coordinate a multi-unit, multi-agency response rather than focus on single-unit operations.
