LOS ANGELES — Officials say at least one person had minor injuries and several families were displaced when a section of a Los Angeles apartment building collapsed.
Fire spokeswoman D’Lisa Davies says three people were briefly trapped when a 35-by-20 foot section of the two-story, four-unit building in Koreatown collapsed shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday night.
Davies says all three people were removed by firefighters. A 36-year-old woman who was standing on the collapsed section had cuts to the head and was taken to a hospital. A 20-year-old man and an unidentified third person who were pulled out did not want to be taken to a hospital.
Davies says the building’s four apartments and eight more from a neighboring building have been evacuated until the structure is secured. She says all the occupants have accounted for.
