TEMPE, Ariz. — Firefighters with the Tempe Fire Medical Rescue Department rushed to save a driver who crashed in front of them while suffering from a medical episode.

The incident happened on March 12 while firefighters were outside of their fire station playing pickleball in between calls, ABC15 reports.

Surveillance video from the fire station shows a vehicle speeding through the parking lot. The firefighters jump out of the path of the vehicle before the vehicle crashes into multiple parked cars.

The firefighters immediately turned around and rushed to the driver’s aid, video shows.

“The firefighters went from running for their lives to running to help the driver. This shows the professionalism of these firefighters” Interim Chief Darrell Duty of Tempe Fire Medical Rescue told ABC15.
