PORTLAND, Ore. — About $10,000 in Portland Fire & Rescue equipment was stole from a battalion chief’s vehicle between Friday evening and Saturday evening, KPTV reported.

Jake Gartland, with PF&R, said the vehicle is the BC’s take-home vehicle.

The missing gear includes a turnout jacket.

“I have no idea what reason somebody would have,” Gartland said. “I can’t imagine there’s much of a market for firefighting air packs out there, but I would be speculating.”
