MARLBORO, N.Y. — About 37 vehicles caught fire Sunday at Copart-Newburgh on Riverview Drive, authorities said Tuesday.

The department was dispatched for a vehicle fire at 91 Riverview Dr. at about 9:25 a.m. Sunday, March 3, the Marlboro Fire Department said in a Facebook post. Upon arrival, firefighters found multiple vehicles were on fire and a second alarm was called, bringing in a tanker from the Milton Fire Department and a standby ambulance, the department said.

One firefighter was evaluated at the scene by EMS crews but was quickly released.

All crews were back in service by 2:30 p.m.

The fire remains under investigation by the Ulster County Fire Investigation Division and Marlborough Police, the department posted. Police Chief Gerald Cocozza said investigators do not think the blaze was “suspicious in nature,” but rather that it was caused by an electrical malfunction.
