RAY TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A Ray Township man has used his experiences as a volunteer firefighter, pilot and farmer to help pen his novel “Call the Note,” a 500-page action/adventure. Author Glenn Rice recently released the book, his first published novel.
“My whole live I’ve loved the English language. I love writing because it’s a form of expression and an art form,” he said. The novel follows agent and Special Forces Sgt. Major Cleat Masin as he tries to save the United States — which is driven to the brink of anarchy by corrupt politicians and scheming neighboring countries — from ruins.
Rice is a volunteer firefighter/paramedic with the Ray Township Fire Department. He also lives in Aguila, Ariz., part of the year and works at that city’s fire department as well. In addition, he holds a pilot’s license and has spent time farming his own land. All of these experiences, coupled with extensive research, have helped Rice pen “Call the Note.”
