Morning show offers $10K for firefighter challenge

This firefighter-only contest has firefighters sing or lip sync on video to win a chance to compete with other firefighters on television

NEW YORK — “Good Morning America” is hosting a video contest called 5-alarm firefighters’ challenge for a chance to win $10,000 for a fire department.

To enter, firefighters must send a video, up to two minutes in length, of themselves performing a rendition of “Safe and Sound” by Capital Cities. The video must be received by 3 p.m. ET on Friday, July 4.

All participants must be professional or volunteer firefighters. Videos may include singing or lip synching to the song, dancing or other types of performance. Read the official rules here.

Firefighters must also include a brief essay, up to 200 words, that describes what your fire department or firehouse is most proud of and how your department would spend the prize money. A photo of the firefighters featured in your video must also be included.

The videos will be used to select semi-finalists who will then compete on the show for the prize money.
