STRATTANVILLE, Pa. — A Pa. firefighter collapsed and died while fighting a fire Monday morning.
Ryan Wingard, 28, of the Strattanville Volunteer Fire Department, was working a debris fire shortly after arriving at the site of a recently demolished house.
After telling fellow firefighters that he was not feeling well, Firefighter Wingard collapsed.
CPR was initiated immediately by members at the scene and an ambulance was called for. Firefighter Wingard was transported to the hospital where he was declared dead.
Both the cause of his death and the fire are under investigation.
