DUSHORE, Pa. — A Pennsylvania firefighter suffered an apparent heart attack and died while on his way to work Thursday.
Firefighter William Thompson, 65, of the Dushore Fire Company, had responded to an emergency call the previous evening, according to the USFA.
To date, 51 firefighter fatalities have been reported to USFA in 2009; 50 from incidents that occurred in 2009 and one from a previous year incident.
