NASSAU BAY, Texas — A house fire in Nassau Bay claimed the life of a 74-year-old man on Saturday. A woman escaped the fire with minor injuries.
Nassau Bay Firefighters were called out to the house on Saxony Lane at about 10:15 a.m. Minutes later, first units arrived to find fire and smoke coming from the one-story house. Webster, Seabrook and Forest Bend Fire Departments were called in to help battle the blaze.
Firefighters discovered a deceased male inside the house. The man has not been identified, but according to Nassau Bay officials, he was a retired Nassau Bay firefighter and had only just retired in December.
