HENRY COUNTY, Tenn. — A man suspected of setting fire to a couple of boats in a wooded area has been arrested, according to the Henry Volunteer Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the wooded area on March 10 after receiving a report that two boats were on fire and spreading into the woods. When firefighters arrived, two fiberglass boats were engulfed in flames.

As firefighters extinguished the flames, new information from the sheriff’s office revealed that a male subject had started the fires and ran into the woods.

The crew was leaving the scene when one of the firefighters spotted the subject hiding in the woods.

The firefighters notified the sheriff’s office and when deputies returned to the scene, they took the suspect into custody on arson charges.
