NEW YORK — Two FDNY fire trucks rushing to the same alarm call yesterday slammed into each other in Greenwich Village, a department spokesman said.
A dozen firefighters aboard the trucks were taken to the hospital following the accident, at West 10th Street and Seventh Avenue, at 6:30 p.m., the spokesman said. Seven had minor injuries; the rest were in serious but stable condition, the spokesman said.
The driver’s side of one of the trucks was damaged, along with the passenger’s side of the other truck.
The trucks were from Squad 18, headquartered at 132 W. 10th St., and Ladder 12, headquartered at 150 W. 19th St., the spokesman said.
