MARION, Ark. — Four Arkansas first responders and the driver of a semitruck were injured in a fire apparatus collision Tuesday night.

Marion Fire Department Chief Woody Wheeless said in a statement on Facebook that four fire department personnel sustained minor injuries and three were released from the hospital early Wednesday morning.

A fourth responder remained in the hospital for further testing.

Wheeless said the apparatus was responding to a call about another vehicle crash at the time of the collision.

“On behalf of our fire department, I want to thank everyone for your prayers, text and calls,” Wheeless wrote. “Please continue to pray for all involved, that they may have a speedy recovery.”
