NOLANVILLE, Texas — Five Nolanville volunteer firefighters were injured when their fire truck flipped multiple times after a head-on collision Friday afternoon.
They were responding to another accident when their truck collided with a pickup about 5:30 p.m. on FM 439 near Chalk Lane. The vehicles ended up on opposite sides of the road.
Two firefighters were ejected from their vehicle when it started rolling. Three others were pinned inside that fire truck, and had to be extracted by the Killeen Rescue Squad’s Jaws of Life. An emergency official said Friday night two of those men were in critical condition with head injuries, and three others were in serious condition at Scott & White in Temple. One firefighter had a broken leg.
