FULLERTON, Calif. — A fire engine with lights and sirens on while responding to a chimney fire was involved in a minor traffic collision Tuesday morning, officials said.

The firefighters were headed southbound on the 1300 block of South Lemon Street shortly after 9:30 a.m. when the Fullerton Fire Department’s engine collided with a Lexus, fire Deputy Chief Julie Kunze said.

“No one was injured,” Kunze said.

The car broadsided the engine; fault had not been determined, Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt said.

The Lexus had significant front-end damage, while the fire engine was nearly unscathed.

Fullerton and Anaheim police officers responded to the incident, as it was near the cities’ border. The chimney-fire call ending up being canceled, Kunze said.

The fire engine is still in service.
