Ore. fire truck in collision while at scene of another

When apparatus arrived at scene in Winston, it was only parked for minutes before hit by passenger vehicle

WINSTON, Ore. — An Oregon fire truck was struck by a vehicle on Wednesday while at the scene of a collision involving a pedestrian and a commercial truck.

A commercial truck struck a pedestrian, leaving him in critical condition, according to KEZI.

When the fire truck arrived at the scene in Winston, it was only parked for a moment before it was hit by a passenger vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle was seriously injured after colliding with the apparatus.

The truck’s emergency lights were on when it was hit, and two firefighters inside who were still in the safety restraints were taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

Police cited the driver who struck the fire truck for DUI and reckless driving.
