PEMBERTON TWP., N.J. — Three people were killed in a house fire in Pemberton Township early Monday.
The victims were identified as Myo Sun Lee, 92, her son Young Boo Lee, 74, and his wife Tasuk Lee, 67.
Authorities were still trying to find the cause of the five-alarm blaze, which was reported shortly after 1 a.m. Monday. It was under control shortly before 3 a.m.
All three victims were dead by the time firefighters found their bodies.
Authorities said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
There were reports of at least two explosions that came after firefighters arrived at the ranch-style home.
Neighbors suspect the explosions may have been a heating oil tank.
By the time the smoldering stopped, the roof of the home was collapsed, the wood frame blackened and trees in the yard singed.
“I just feel horrible for them,” said Sharon Deist, who lives next door to the home that burned.
“I’m just very grateful we’re alive.”
