A firefighter has been killed and four others injured after their truck hit a tree at Glenfield in Sydney’s south-west.
Police say the fire truck was responding to an emergency call when the crash happened on Cambridge Avenue at Glenfield, just before 10:00am AEST.
They say the truck hit a semi-trailer, glancing off its side and then crashing into a tree.
There were five crew members on board.
NRMA Careflight says one man was killed, while emergency crews have freed the other four firefighters from the wreckage.
Three have been taken by ambulance to Liverpool Hospital, while the other has been flown to Westmead Hospital with multiple fractures.
