BERKELEY, Calif. — A 49-year-old firefighter was charged with possession of child pornography after police found pictures in his locker and on a disc left in a fire station computer, authorities said.
Luis Ponce, a 17-year veteran of the Berkeley Fire Department, was arrested near his home in Grass Valley Thursday following an eight-week investigation that started with the discovery of the computer disc, said police Sgt. Mary Kumiss.
Kusmiss would not disclose the ages of the children featured in the pornography, but said investigators spent several weeks making sure it belonged to Ponce because several people had access to the same computer.
