PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — Authorities say one person died in an explosion that destroyed an auto-repair shop in Pinellas Park.
By the time deputies and firefighters arrived, the engine-repair shop had been nearly leveled by an explosion and fire Saturday night.
The body found inside has not yet been identified.
A neighboring home also was damaged by the explosion, but the 90-year-old woman who lives there was not injured. Authorities said debris was scattered over several blocks, and windows were broken at nearby businesses.
Arson and homicide detectives, along with the state fire marshal’s office, were investigating.
