LINCOLN,RI — A seven-year-old boy died in a house fire in the Saylesville section early yesterday morning, while eight other people staying in the house — four adults and four children — were evacuated by fire and rescue personnel.
At 5:10 a.m., the police said, officers and firefighters responded to 3 Earl St., and found heavy smoke and fire coming from the second-floor windows.
Fire and rescue personnel were told a young boy was trapped on the second floor but because of intense fire and smoke, they were unable to reach him, the police said.
