PHILIPPI, W.Va. — State and local authorities are investigating a mobile home fire in Barbour County that killed a child and injured five other people, according to television reports.

WDTV-TV reported that authorities suspect an overloaded circuit in the home caused the deadly fire.

The fire occurred about 2 a.m. Sunday in a mobile home park located along Hacker Creek Road, according to Barbour County authorities..

A local medical examiner pronounced one child dead at the scene. A man, a woman, and three other children who were in the mobile home were injured.

The victims’ identities haven’t been released.

Two of the injured children were treated at a local hospital and released.
