CLEVELAND — A firefighter accused of fatally shooting three people over a loud Fourth of July party at his neighbor’s house was charged with aggravated murder on Friday.
Police recovered 12 guns, including the handgun investigators said was used in the shootings, from Terrance Hough Jr.'s home.
Hough, 35, a 12-year veteran of the city’s fire department, was jailed as he awaited an initial court appearance on Saturday. Hough did not yet have an attorney Friday.
Police Chief Michael McGrath said more charges were expected when the case goes to a grand jury.
Those killed were Jacob Feichtner, 24, a University of Akron student who lived at the house where the party was taking place; Katherine M. Rosby, 26, of Lakewood; and Bruce R. Anderson, 30, of Parma.
Cuyahoga County Coroner Elizabeth Balraj said Feichtner was shot in the chest and Anderson and Rosby were shot in the back. A man shot in the elbow and a woman with a finger wound were treated and released from a hospital.
Police at the scene said the shooting just after midnight on Thursday apparently was prompted by anger over fireworks and the loud party.
The wounded man said Hough never complained about the noise.
“There was no warning,” Donny Walsh, 23, told The Plain Dealer. “There was nothing at all. There was no dispute.”
Walsh said Hough walked out of his home with a black gun and said, “I bet you guys won’t be doing this (expletive) again.”
Hough’s wife, Regina, had called police several times between 2003 and 2005 complaining about loud noise, drugs, underage drinking and problems with neighbors, police reports show. Cleveland police visited several times.
