WASHINGTON — The headquarters of the Federal Emergency Management Agency was briefly evacuated for a fire.
D.C. fire department spokesman Alan Etter says the blaze began about 7:30 a.m. Thursday. He says the fire was contained to a first-floor office, but smoke spread into a hallway.
About 200 workers were evacuated for nearly an hour while the fire was extinguished.
Etter says no one was injured. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
